Réseau vivant : art écosystémique

Série d’œuvres numériques digigraphiées.

Cette exposition est le résultat d’une recherche en art écosystémique à la pointe du Grouin, où le paysage artistique s’allie au paysage scientifique afin de mettre en image l’importance de la complexité des liens au sein de nos milieux de vie.

​

En juin 2024, Nancy Lamontagne et Antoine Collin réalisent une résidence art-science à la pointe du Grouin, en partenariat avec le musée Manoli et le département d'Ille-et-Vilaine.

 

Au cours de cette résidence,  ils se sont intéressés à cet espace naturel sensible rassemblant de forts enjeux écologiques (faune, flore, fonge et leurs milieux) et anthropiques (surveillance de la mer, sauvetage en mer, tourisme, peinture, photographie, astronomie, architecture militaire et hôtelière, etc.).

De la pointe, ils notent :

« Du ciel à la terre à la mer

Entre vivants et non-vivants

La lumière se reçoit, s’émet

En un réseau qui se transforme par ces échanges presqu’imperceptibles

Regarder, c’est aussi toucher : ce n’est pas anodin

Tout se modifie, se met en mouvement par ce lien »

 

À l’aide d’outils et de méthodes scientifiques (drones, appareil photo, logiciels, etc.), ils ont recueilli des images et différentes données afin de développer une approche art-science pour représenter le paysage, sous forme de réseau liant l’ensemble du vivant et du non-vivant.

 

Les œuvres présentent le réseau qu’abrite la pointe du Grouin, en tout ou en partie, où les éléments sont indissociés dans leur mode de représentation : astres, rochers, lichens, plantes, animaux (incluant l’humain), constructions, etc., sont figurés par un entrelacs d’éléments géométriques. Sans point central ni prédilection pour l’une de ces composantes, le réseau souligne l’interdépendance de ses éléments et la vulnérabilité de ceux qui sont faiblement reliés : ensemble, ils forment un paysage numérique.

 

Le tissu est le support matériel dans lequel vient prendre corps ce réseau. En tant que fond, il peut être perçu ou encore presque oublié au profit du paysage représenté. Il reste néanmoins le socle constitué de liens (trame de l’étoffe, maillage des fils) qui sous-tend ces paysages numériques.

Living network : ecosystem art

Series of digital and digigraphie works. ​

 

This exhibition is the result of a research in ecosystem art at the Pointe du Grouin, where the artistic landscape combines with the scientific landscape in order to illustrate the importance of the complexity of the links within our living environments. ​

 

In June 2024, Nancy Lamontagne and Antoine Collin are carrying out an art-science residency at the Pointe du Grouin, in partnership with the Manoli Museum and the department of Ille-et-Vilaine.

 

During this residency, they were interested in this sensitive natural space bringing together strong ecological issues (fauna, flora, fungi and their environments) and anthropogenic issues (sea monitoring, sea rescue, tourism, painting, photography, astronomy, military and hotel architecture, etc.).

From the promontory, they note :

“From the sky to the earth to the sea

Between the living and the non-living

Light is received, emitted

In a network that is transformed by these almost imperceptible exchanges

To look is also to touch : it is not trivial

Everything is modified, set in motion by this link”

 

Using scientific tools and methods (drones, cameras, software, etc.), they collected images and various data in order to develop an art-science approach to represent the landscape, in the form of a network linking all the living and the non-living.

 

The works present the network that the Pointe du Grouin shelters, in whole or in part, where the elements are inseparable in their mode of representation : stars, rocks, lichens, plants, animals (including humans), constructions, etc., are represented by an interlacing of geometric elements. Without a central point or predilection for one of these components, the network underlines the interdependence of its elements and the vulnerability of those that are weakly connected : together, they form a digital landscape.

 

The fabric is the material support in which this network takes shape. As a background, it can be perceived or almost forgotten in favor of the landscape represented. It nevertheless remains the base made up of links (weft of the fabric, mesh of threads) that underlies these digital landscapes.
